Sustainability is Sparkling at Collina Strada PS27 at CPHFW

Unlike the seasons, style doesn’t fade. In fact, when you have pieces you really love—they simply become reimagined in fresh ways to take on a new life. Which is exactly what the latest Collina Strada PS27 collection did at Copenhagen Fashion Week.

Titled Delirium in Bloom, New York designer Hillary Taymour repurposed fabrics that were already in her atelier to deliver transformations sourced from their very own history. Much like style that never fades, going outside of boundaries Taymour’s presentation were of pieces that were designed outside of seasons in dreamscape that truly came full circle.

Starting in 2026, Copenhagen Fashion Week began its collaboration with Climate Pledge to work toward advancing sustainability within the fashion industry. And as a signatory of Climate Pledge, Taymour was invited to Copenhagen to present. Teaming up with KEVIN.MURPHY to enhance the hair aspect of her presentation was a perfect fit to clarify the transparency of the impact these industries make on our environment with partners committed to protecting it.

What unfolded on the runway was pure creativity in an otherworldly form. Global Professional Ambassador Eugene Souleiman led the hair direction for KEVIN.MURPHY, creating a series of fantastical looks with plenty of [biodegradable] sparkle.

      The Looks:

      Taking two unique directions, Souleiman created Couture Disco—an abstract updo — and Space Fairy—a manipulated silhouette that stretched the boundaries of hair as fabric. With each, tinsel, repurposed fabrics from Taymour and biodegradable glitter were added to bring the intergalactic feel to life.

      Speaking on the inspiration, Souleiman commented, “A lot of the inspiration came from intergalactic aerial imagery from NASA’s Hubble Telescope — these incredible landscapes of sparkling gas, intense colour and strange astral formations. I wanted the hair to feel otherworldly, interplanetary, weird, bright and beautiful all at once.”

      Couture Disco

      Using what each model naturally showed up with, this updo was prepped with FRESH.HAIR and ANTI.GRAVITY to establish a foundation, by adding texture, body and volume that was able to be built into sculptural, abstract forms. Once this was secure, SESSION.SPRAY was layered throughout to build structure and hold as the shape developed, allowing the hair—as an architectural form—to become the finished look.

      Space Fairy

      Pushing the hair even further into the galaxy, the Space Fairy interpretation was the perfect example of product manipulation and creativity. Souleiman saturated the hair with SESSION.SPRAY, using the hairspray almost as a gel before wetting and compressing the hair close against the scalp beneath a net. From here, tinsel, fabric and glitter were added, creating a space for reuse beyond the clothes and onto the models themselves.

      From treating hair as fabric to actually using fabric in the hair, the hair became an extension of the designs by using actual fabric from previous Collina Strada collections and repurposing it within the looks.

      “For me, it’s about not looking at hair simply as a hairdresser, but looking at it as a creative and as an artist. We’re treating hair as a fabric, which is essentially what it is. We’re taking it out of the salon and sending it into a dreamscape. Everything I did came from feeling and making things up as we went along.”

      From the sparkles to the whisper-light fabrics, the collection brought whimsy to life as it flowed down the runway, giving us a fresh take on inspiration that’s out of this world this season.
