Copenhagen AW25: The Styles That Are Making Waves

It seems that this year, more than any other, Copenhagen not only has a pulse on the fashion movement throughout the world, but it’s also finally getting recognised for it. While the street style has always been something of an inspiration, the Runways are winning big this year thanks to well-thought designs and an air of approachability loved by all. On the beauty front—from adding movement to taking it away, the hairstyles on the runway at CPHFW AW25 captured a variety of finishes—made possible by KEVIN.MURPHY—which we’re breaking down below.
MUNTHE

The Munthe AW25 collection is everything everyone wants to wear, every day. Featuring easy-going pieces mixed with a vintage vibe and approachable yet sophisticated feel, the runway designs were finished with hair that was so subtlety perfect that it didn’t even look “styled.” Ultimately, the hair looked so natural, it complemented each model, further cementing the season’s theme of personalisation.

Led by KEVIN.MURPHY SESSION.MASTER Massimo Morello, the brief was simple—create a “Day After Look,” which was inspired by 70s soft waves mixed with a rock and roll lived-in look. The styles were expertly created backstage with the help of a curated selection of products and blow-dry techniques to enhance a soft finish.

Depending on the model’s natural texture, hair was prepped with ANTI.GRAVITY.SPRAY and SMOOTH.AGAIN and then blown-dry section by section with a twisting motion around the hairline, moving hair away from the face. Then, hair was finished with a soft layer of HAIR.RESORT.SPRAY and TOUCHABLE for a lightweight hold that had plenty of flexible movement.

THE GARMENT
Nikolaj Kunsthal
The Garment’s AW25 show focused on modern minimalism with chic silhouettes and even chicer fabrics. And much like the fabrics, the hair was created with soft, flowy finishes that looked supremely natural—an anti-glamour finish, if you will, that ended up being the best accessory of all.

The secret to creating the effortless “Undone Look”? It isn’t just a perfect air-dry or a well-layered product, sometimes the more effortless the finish, the more work that actually goes into it. Just ask the KEVIN.MURPHY Team, led by Massimo Morello, who created the style.

For The Garment look, they prepped dry hair with ANTI.GRAVITY.SPRAY. Then, starting at the nape with medium-sized sections, they wrapped hair around a medium iron until half way while leaving the ends out. Then, when hot, they wrapped the ends in the opposite way to create an uneven wave pattern and avoid a “glam” finish. Then, to perfect the style, hair was spritzed with a light combo of SESSION.SPRAY and SHIMMER.SHINE, then tousled with the trusted TEXTURE.COMB.

DEADWOOD
Villa Copenhagen
Everything about the ocean—mermaids, sirens and the great unknown— was plunged onto the Deadwood AW25 runway with great effect. The designer, who gathered inspiration from the sea, brought his visions of serenity, tailoring and tumultuous feelings to life. And while the wardrobe has undercurrents that flutter between the bottom of the ocean and tactile textures, the hair defied gravity with the help of the iconic KEVIN.MURPHY ANTI.GRAVITY.SPRAY.

Looking as though it was swept away in the sea, hair took on a variety of frozen wet looks. From combed down and slick to the head to pointed and sticking up, up and away, the KEVIN.MURPHY Team applied products generously to get the finished feel.

First, they began by applying ANTI.GRAVITY.SPRAY and lifting the roots as they blow-dried to create height and movement. Then another layer of ANTI.GRAVITY.SPRAY + SESSION.SPRAY was applied section by section starting at the nape. The last layer of these products was then used to saturate the hair and cement the look. Once the prep was done, hair was backcombed starting at the crown through the ends. With each section slowly getting added to the previous one with a layer of SESSION.SPRAY to set. Expert precision and heat + barber tape and clips were also utilised to ensure an edgy frozen finish.
