In October of 2019, my husband and father of my children was diagnosed with a blood cancer called Multiple Myeloma. He became 100% disabled and our lives were flipped upside down. The last 2 years have been a long road filled with treatments and transplants to keep him functional. Every time he’s faced with a less than ideal situation, he says these words: “I’m just happy to be alive”.
The one thing that has helped us through these unfortunate times the most, was the kindness we received from others.
This inspired me to create a t-shirt line that reminds people what a gift it is to be alive and also, to remind people to be kind. Our tees are a collection of life’s obstacles that we have turned into happy, inspirational and uplifting words.
We wanted to bring awareness to mental health, life changing illnesses, and acts of kindness (both big and small) that could change someone’s life. We collected stories from people who have battled depression, bullying and life threatening illnesses, and gave them a t-shirt in hopes our words would provide them with a sense of hope.
But, creating t-shirts didn’t feel like enough. So we took it a step further to spread some more good into this world. We decided to take a portion of our sales and adopt a family in need each holiday season.
When my husbands ability to work was taken from him, our t-shirt line made it possible for us to continue to provide for our family. We want to give back to our community that was there for us during the worst time of our lives, and help provide for other families as well.
Our t-shirt line launched on July 1, 2021.
