Celebrating 20 Years of KEVIN.MURPHY at REFLECTIVE PERSPECTIVE

KEVIN.MURPHY has always been at the height of innovation, so it’s no wonder that the heart of the brand has always been about moving forward. With a Skincare for Your Hair philosophy that’s echoed throughout the years, combining ingredients to satisfy a need backstage or in the salon was always the goal alongside creating products that truly perform.

The reflective perspective show that took place in Budapest, Hungary was one of the largest shows to date and gave an inside look at the history of the brand while celebrating the styles — featured in everything from brand campaigns to Vogue and runways across the globe — that have had an everlasting impact.

Bringing together over 1800 people from around the globe, the Reflective Perspective show included Kevin, alongside his Global team of stylists and showcased the finest in hair colouring, cutting, and styling. From gravity-defying sculptural silhouettes to dynamic colours and effortless cuts, over 48 models were styled the KEVIN.MURPHY way — merging the best of fashion with the best of hair.  

Alongside Murphy and his team, the show also showcased the talent of Yannick and Gabby of @Coiffeurstory, a dynamic duo who have dedicated their work to uplifting people through hair, celebrating natural textures and creating statement hair.

While the images of our most-loved styles will always tell a story, we wanted everyone to be able to experience them in all their glory. This is where the wig exhibition came into play. Highlighting Kevin Murphy’s most iconic styles — from cut to colour and styling — over the past 20 years, attendees were able to walk through rows on display to really take in all the creativity.

As a session stylist who was continually looking to evoke feeling through the hairstyles he created, Kevin began mixing his own products to create the looks he was after. Often borrowing ingredients and ingenuity from skincare, he wanted lightweight products that would absorb while still being able to manipulate the hair. What he created was a gentle balance between nature and science that has just as much a focus on care as it does on control.

Celebrating the icons that continue to stand the test of time, limited editions of HAIR.RESORT.SPRAY and ANTI.GRAVITY.SPRAY will be available to commemorate the occasion. With an exclusive design that honours the brands’ fashion and styling history and future, the bottles are sleek, sophisticated, and carry Kevin’s signature — signifying the lasting impressions they have made over the years.
