Myth Salon

Three years ago, I came across Scott Harrison’s, the founder of ‘Charity:Water’. It was sad to hear stories of people who do not have access to clean drinking water, so many unnecessary deaths and lifetime deformities. As a mother of three girls, I was deeply touched.
The vision of ‘Mother Nature in Hair’ was born during a walk in nature. I was inspired to highlight nature in a way that had never been seen before, to look at it from a different angle in an artistic way. We all know what state our nature is in. We are actually well aware of it, but we push it aside with the excuse that we have no control over it. I’ve been looking for ways in which I can contribute to a greater awareness of the importance of nature and, in particular, in moving towards a positive impact on the environment. The charitable event ‘Mother Nature In Hair’, was organised on the 25th of May 2023 in spa resort Snovik, Slovenia. The vision of the event was to present nature with all its elements: ether, air, fire, water and earth in a way that has so far unique way. Each element was presented in different ways: with video material, music and live creation. As a stylist, I designed special hairstyles dedicated to all 5 elements through the usage of Kevin Murphy’s hair products. But also other performers were part of the programm - singers, specially recorded video materials dedicated to 5 elements, special flower decorations, organic vegan food was served etc. The stories left a unique mark on us. In the framework of the project, I was working with dedicated, talented, like-minded artists, and this gave the event even higher meaning. More is available on the link: https://youtu.be/umibw3Bwvh4
All the money gathered was donated to Charity: Water: https://www.charitywater.org/claudia-urbanec-slibar. In the future, I plan to proceed with this initiative and replicate the concept in other regions. I believe that by such artistic spectacles with a charitable message as Mother Nature in our hair, we can gather some financial resources, influence awareness and have a positive impact on society and the environment. I am sure that many salons would decide to be part of the story as I decided to do that in my salon three years ago.
