In editorial, you always see the final image. But how often do you see behind the scenes of what it took to create that finished look? In the latest campaign for KEVIN.MURPHY, the team wanted to uncover those very details to give an unedited view of the story behind the story. With that, they present:  UNDERSTORY & CAN I GET A MOMENT — each with their own narrative to tell and aesthetic to inspire.

UNDERSTORY and CAN I GET A MOMENT takes you into both the tranquil forests and secluded coastlines of Tasmania. Here, you’re able to see how flashes of moments don’t get overlooked, but instead inspired an entire collection.

Pandani Grove is nestled on a mountaintop in Mount Field National Park in the south of Tasmania. While for some it might feel a world away, this unique piece of land, home to some of the world’s tallest eucalyptus forest and also a UNESCO world heritage site, captured a bit of what feels like home to us with its powerful presence and peaceful spirit. 

Set on the most gorgeous green oasis, we focus on earthy tones, 70s utilitarian, and pops of colour to bring the story to life. Hair felt undone to work with the natural texture of the backdrop bringing to life effortless waves and glamorous sun-kissed colour with an Australian ‘surf hair’ feel.

At Sundown Point also referred to as The Heartlands lives a house perched on a cliff in what feels like the edge of the world. Here, where the sea meets the sky is where CAN I GET A MOMENT came to life.  

Glossy hair and polished cuts were created from the expressiveness of natural textures of stone, wool, and wood that surrounded us. Muted tones like clean blonde and rich brunette played with neon pops of colour to create the subtle sophistication that can take us from day to night. With a minimalistic undertone, everything was honed back a bit only to make it stand out again.
