Story
Let me start by sharing our Salons CORE values.
Core Values
Passion: Be passionate about our services, products, and treating one another with respect.
Superior Customer Service: Dedicate services, responsibilities and attitude to satisfying the customer’s needs. Honor all commitments that have been made to customers.
Respect: Treat team members, customers, partners, and suppliers with mutual respect and sensitivity, recognizing the importance of diversity. Respect all individuals, appreciate their differences, and value their character.
Motivation: Celebrate successes. Recognize and reward achievements of the team and of individuals.
Integrity: Act with honesty and integrity, never compromising the truth.
Accountability: Accept responsibility for your actions. Salon Chic and employees make and support business decisions together. Decisions are based on good judgment and experience.
Teamwork: Support each other’s efforts, be loyal to one another, and care for each other both professionally and personally.
Balance: Help team members live a healthy work/life balance. Flexibility is a priority.
Open Communication: All team members are encouraged to openly share their opinions and views.
Growth: Optimize our financial and physical resources. Simplify and improve processes continuously.
As we hire, we make sure that all employees understand and share the same values. As a result we have culminated a group of stylists that care. Any decision we make is based on the ethical thing to do. We have done haircuts for the homeless, fundraising for community needs, gone to the Hospital to take care of those dying, adopted a highway and turned the salon into a mask making factory when Covid hit.
Work/life balance is very important to all of us! You are the best employee and take the best care of your clients and want to serve others in the community when your life is solid and well balanced. As a salon we made the decision to close on weekends to allow for family time, rest periods and the ability to integrate our community outreach.
Timing
I purchased Salon Chic in 2007, without a penny in my pocket. We didn't even have enough to start with cash in the till. I worked hard, recruited the right people that ended up comprising the perfect team. It is with every heart and passionate individual within the salon walls that make it what it is! It is the team that shares the same values that make it fun to clean up a highway on a Saturday or give up an afternoon mentoring a teenager who is interested in Cosmetology. Nothing is off the table, if there is a way to help we will do it! We are so much more than a salon, we are a family who cares deeply.
