Story
I have always been caring about homeless animals, and therefore this story is about my endless zeal and desire to bring home all the homeless animals of my city, regardless of the wishes of my housemates.
My first impulse happened with in a cold winter, when, returning home, I saw a small kitten who was very scared and was hiding from cold in the gateway.
Without any hesitation, I took the poor thing to my home, for which I later received a lot of criticism, but nevertheless, Margot (as we called her) lived with us for two weeks until we found her a good family.
Now the baby is very good, she is loved and taken care of, which I am very happy about!
My second story took place in late autumn, I was on my way home after work and next to my house I saw a boy holding a small kitten in his arms. The boy was offering to take the kitten to all passers-by.
It turned out, the boy pulled the kitten out from under the wheels of the car, but could not take the poor thing home.
I quickly dialed my mother’s number and when I heard her voice instead of beeps, I said that I had already picked up a kitten on the street and was carrying it home, my mother had no choice and therefore the cat – Matilda – has been living in our house for a year and a half!
At first we wanted to find another “home” for her, since we already had two cats and a dog, but love for Mota woke up instantly and in everyone. And that is how she stayed with us.
The third story could have ended very tragically for one cat, but, fortunately, nothing bad happened. It all started when messages came to the chat of our house that already an adult cat had lost its owners (two elderly people died and the cat was left alone) and the heir of the apartment wanted to rent it out. As he didn’t want to keep the cat he had already arranged to put that animal to sleep.
We only had two days to find the cat at least a temporary place to live. I posted a photo of this cat on Instagram asking for help in finding owners and sharing information.
Then I was once again convinced of how strong Instagram is at such things and that a very large number of people can still help in difficult times.
We are still looking for a permanent place of residence and a loving family for the cat.
In conclusion, I would like to say: so many people are ready to buy expensive thoroughbred pets instead of going and taking an animal from a shelter or from the street: such life for them is not all cakes and ale! In my opinion, the animals from the shelter, homeless need love, affection and care more then others, but not everyone will agree with me, unfortunately.
Timing
The first story happened in 2018, in winter. The second happened in 2019 at the end of autumn. The third – in May 2021.
