We at Salon Wittlaer are taking part , in this year's Kevin Murphy ICON Award!
And YES, we made a CHOICE !!
Decisions turned into our attitude that finally grew into our heartfelt-project
– "Project Green Salon" !
(The conscious and sustainable use of our natural and valuable resources at our salon)
Our journey began 4 years ago when i took over the somewhat antique salon.
There was something about it, that made me fall in love with the coziness and idyll of the store.
Our first green decision was about furnishings. We chose recycled wood, that had been used on construction sites and scaffolding in the past.
This gives our salon the rustic and sustainable look. – Furniture with a real history !
Another decision was about the high water consumption in our industry.
Here we rely on the Eco Heads, which allow us to waste significantly less water.
Our Dyson hairdryers also use less energy because they reduce the blow-drying time.
We have also thought about the topic of decoration.
Switching to dry flowers saves us from throwing away cut flowers and pleases our lovely bees out there.
Our electric company car is a proud acquisition of Salon Wittlaer. Every morning we carpool with the team to reduce our emissions.
There is so much more we can pay attention to and we always enjoy opportunities like this competition, to come across new ideas and changes in our industry.
Only together can we make the difference in order to make the hairdressing industry greener!

As Salon Wittlaer, we want to inspire and to be a part of the green revolution in the hairdressing industry.
I founded Salon Wittlaer 4 years ago. And from day one, it was particularly important to me that every decision was made with sustainability and resources in mind.
We have also always been very attentive in our choice of brands and are constantly optimising ourselves.
